Nick Marshall – Science Link Governor

I am the Science Link governor and also sit on the Curriculum and Policies committee. My background is in Science education; although I have retired from formal teaching, I still teach Astronomy at New Mills High School and am an examiner for GCSE and BTEC Science.
The school garden was designed by my late wife; central to the garden is an artistic installation of Ceres, the first asteroid to be discovered (in 1801 – it is now a dwarf planet) that is part of an astronomical project that I instigated several years ago. Naturally, I am very keen to see the school take advantage of having such a diverse garden on its doorstep and want to encourage its use by the children and staff as much as possible.
In my spare time, I enjoy supporting Liverpool Football Club, play guitar and am currently building a 00-gauge model railway in my lounge.
